UNAIDS works with a number of outstanding personalities to strengthen awareness on AIDS. The UNAIDS Goodwill Ambassadors are prominent individuals from the world of arts, entertainment, sport and other fields of public life who have expressed their desire to contribute to UNAIDS and to move the AIDS response forward.
Emmanuel Adebayor
UNAIDS Goodwill Ambassador Emmanuel Adebayor of Togo is an internationally acclaimed football star of Manchester City and “African Footballer of the Year 2008.” Mr Adebayor uses his sporting popularity to raise awareness about the HIV epidemic globally, including the importance of HIV prevention among young people. He was appointed UNAIDS Goodwill Ambassador in 2009.

Michael Ballack
UNAIDS Goodwill Ambassador Michael Ballack is an international footballer and captain of the German National Team. Through achievements in the world of international sport, he is a role model for many young people and has dedicated time and effort disseminating messages on HIV prevention. He was appointed UNAIDS Goodwill Ambassador in 2006.

Toumani Diabaté
UNAIDS Goodwill Ambassador Toumani Diabaté of Mali is a globally acclaimed musician and dedicated AIDS advocate who uses his music to empower people and spread HIV awareness messages. Mr Diabaté has participated in various outreach campaigns with the Haut Conseil National de Lutte contre le Sida in Mali. He was appointed UNAIDS Goodwill Ambassador in 2008.

Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway
UNAIDS Goodwill Ambassador Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway advocates to generate attention and support for young people living with or affected by HIV. She was appointed UNAIDS Goodwill Ambassador in 2006.

Her Serene Highness Princess Stephanie of Monaco
UNAIDS Goodwill Ambassador Her Serene Highness Princess Stephanie of Monaco has been passionately engaged in the response to HIV for many years. She has been President of the non-governmental organization “Fight AIDS Monaco” since 2004 and was appointed a UNAIDS Goodwill Ambassador in 2006.

Annie Lennox
UNAIDS Goodwill Ambassador Annie Lennox is committed to speaking out for women and girls affected by the HIV epidemic. She is also a dedicated activist and campaigner working for social justice with numerous organizations. She was appointed UNAIDS Goodwill Ambassador in June 2010.

Lebo M
UNAIDS Goodwill Ambassador Lebohang Morake is a Grammy award-winning producer, composer and singer, known professionally as Lebo M. Known for the musical blockbuster, The Lion King, Lebo M uses his talent, outreach and deep understanding of HIV to raise awareness about the epidemic globally, including helping to break the cycle of stigma and discrimination associated with the virus.

UNAIDS Goodwill Ambassador Naomi Watts is a renowned actress and Oscar nominee. She has starred in films including King Kong, The Ring, 21 Grams, and Mulholland Drive. In her role of UNAIDS Goodwill Ambassador, Ms Watts raises awareness on issues related to AIDS including the needs of people living with HIV worldwide. She was appointed UNAIDS Goodwill Ambassador in 2006.
