Through all these years, the Global Fund has made a profound difference in saving millions of lives around the world. It has created momentum and helped countries achieve results.

First Lady of Ethiopia commits to elimination of new HIV infections among children

In a meeting at the Presidential Palace in Addis Ababa on 5 December, Mr Sidibé congratulated the First Lady of Ethiopia on her successful stewardship of the Organization of African First Ladies Against HIV/AIDS (OAFLA) and urged her to continue to champion the health and well-being of women and girls across Africa.
UNAIDS regional director for west and central Africa awarded with the Legion d’Honneur

Global Fund implementers meeting: opportunities and challenges

UNAIDS, in collaboration with WHO and Stop TB Partnership, convened a two day consultation with implementers of Global Fund programmes in Nairobi from 3 - 4 November. This consultation was called to create a platform for implementers to discuss the changes taking place within the Global Fund, to help shape this transformation and contribute to the increased ownership and effective implementation of the reforms.

Housing Works to improve the lives of people living with HIV in the United States

In 2009 there were an estimated 1.2 million people living with HIV across the United States of America. In many cities across the United States large numbers of people living with HIV are also homeless. In New York one organization is working hard to address the twin crisis of HIV and homelessness.
