Design and Implementation of UNAIDS Doha+10 Study and support to UNAIDS for Intellectual Property and Access to HIV medicines

The purpose of this Request for Proposal (RFP) is to enter into a contractual agreement with a successful bidder and select a suitable contractor to carry out the design and implementation of UNAIDS Doha+10 study, and advice and technical support regarding intellectual property and access to HIV medicines

Specific Tasks:

  1. Review key policy documents issued by UNAIDS concerning international trade and intellectual property rules and access to HIV-related medicines and commodities.
  2. Following a review of the literature and consultations with concerned UNAIDS Secretariat and Cosponsor staff, provide a detailed written study design and protocol proposal, undertake research based on secondary data sources, and deliver a study report as part of the Doha+10 events
  3. Technical support on Intellectual Property and access to HIV treatment.

The consultancy is expected to commence in April 2010. By the end of September 2011 study report and presentation are to be finalised and dissemination advise and inputs for talking points for UNAIDS executive and senior management. The contract and ongoing strategic and technical advice and support should continue until December 2011.
