Right to health, right to life: HIV and human rights in Europe

HIV as a human rights issue was the main theme of a high-level meeting co-organized by the European Commission and UNAIDS. The meeting explored the critical human rights issues in Europe that are resulting in stagnation of the AIDS response in Western Europe and an increase in new HIV infections and AIDS-related deaths in Eastern Europe.

UNAIDS and Flanders renewed their multi-year agreement of cooperation on 22 March 2011 during an official visit from a Flemish delegation headed by Minister-President Kris Peeters to the UNAIDS headquarters in Geneva.
African HIV prisons network receives prestigious international award

The African HIV in Prisons Partnership Network has been presented with the prestigious 2010 Healthcare Award by the International Corrections and Prisons Association. Representing a major boost for the network, the award was given during the Association's recent annual conference in Belgium.
Expanding HIV services in post-conflict Liberia
