UNAIDS Executive Director Michel Sidibé and the Global Fund to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria Executive Director, Dr Mark Dybul travelled to Namibia from 3-4 November to discuss the national AIDS response with high-level political leadership, civil society, beneficiaries, representatives of UN agencies, and multilateral partner organisations.

UNAIDS Executive Director Michel Sidibé making his remarks on 3 November at a public lecture under the theme ‘ending HIV and AIDS, TB and Malaria within the Post 2015 Agenda: Increase Access to Medicines’ organised by Polytechnic of Namibia in Windhoek. Mr Sidibé said investing in pharmaceuticals in Africa is critical as it will be impossible to end the AIDS epidemic without local production of essential medicines and diagnostics.
