Joint donor mission to Mozambique, March 2005

Leaders from Norway, UK, Sweden, UNAIDS and the World Bank were in Mozambique on 22-23 March, where they met with representatives of the government, civil society, UN and donor agencies to explore ways to improve donor harmonization at all levels, and in particular in the fight against HIV and AIDS. Members of the delegation included: Hilde Johnson, Norwegian Minister of International Development; Gobind Nankani, Vice-President for Africa, World Bank; Suma Chakrabarti, Permanent Secretary, Department for International Development (DfID); Dr Peter Piot, Executive Director of UNAIDS and Under Secretary-General of the United Nations; and Ruth Jacoby, Director General for Development Cooperation at the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
