2008 High-level Meeting on AIDS photo gallery

The 2008 United Nations High-level Meeting on AIDS concluded Wednesday evening, 11 June 2008. The meeting was attended by stakeholders from across the global AIDS response, including leaders from national governments, civil society groups and United Nations agencies.

The Commission on HIV/AIDS and Governance in Africa (CHGA) presented its final report "Securing our future" to the UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon on 9 June 2008 at UN Headquarters. UNAIDS Executive Director Dr Peter Piot and UNAIDS Deputy Executive Director Mr Michel Sidibe also attended the presentation.

Representatives of civil society organizations addressed Member States and observers on Tuesday 10th June in an interactive hearing at the High-level Meeting on AIDS entitled Action for Universal Access 2010: Myths and Realities.

A series of panel discussions were held during the High-level meeting on AIDS in New York. These discussions covered a range of topics from gender equality to concentrated epidemics and the multigenerational challenge of AIDS.
