This year’s World Health Assembly is set to focus considerable attention on the widespread outbreak of influenza A (H1N1), as Health Ministers and officials of more than 190 countries gather in Geneva from 18-22 May to discuss the most effective responses to the potential pandemic.
Mr. Michel Sidibé, Executive Director of UNAIDS speaking at a meeting on the opening day of the 62nd World Health Assembly held from 18-22 May in Geneva. The Ministers of Health of Pakistan, China, Thailand, Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Nepal together with senior representatives from ILO, IOM, WHO and UNAIDS participated in this meeting on international labour migration.
