5th Central American Congress on AIDS - CONCASIDA, 4 - 9 November 2007
The 1,500 participants attending the congress include Dr Peter Piot, Executive Director of UNAIDS, UNAIDS Special Representative HRH the Crown Princess of Norway, people living with HIV, regional Health Ministers, representatives from civil society, women’s organizations, religious organizations and the private sector. Dr. Peter Piot, UNAIDS Executive Director, addressed the audience during the inauguration of the V Congress on HIV in Central America, CONCASIDA 2007, in Managua, Nicaragua.

Dr. Cesar Antonio Nuñez, RST Director for Latin America, addressed the audience during the opening event of the V Central American Meeting of people living with HIV.
CONCASIDA participants joined a march of solidarity for people living with HIV on the evening of 6 November.The banner reads "for equality, diversity and human dignity".
The United Nations stand at CONCASIDA 2007 was one of the most visited during the conference.
