Special Summit of African Union on HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, 3 May 2006
Dr Peter Piot, UNAIDS Executive Director joined African leaders and Heads of State in Abuja, Nigeria at the Special Summit on HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria to address the challenges posed by the three main causes of morbidity and mortality in Africa. The Summit was organized by the African Union in collaboration with UN Agencies and other development partners, and at the invitation of Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo.
