How AIDS changed everything—MDG 6: 15 years, 15 lesson of hope from the AIDS response

Released in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, on the sidelines of the Third International Conference on Financing for Development, the report demonstrates that the response to HIV has been one of the smartest investments in global health and development, generating measurable results for people and economies. It also shows that the world is on track to meet the investment target of US$ 22 billion for the AIDS response by 2015 and that concerted action over the next five years can end the AIDS epidemic by 2030.

Champions for an AIDS-free generation in Africa

The High Level Coordinating Committee (HLCC) meeting being held 13-15 April in Johannesburg, South Africa brings together the Champions and all principals of the Programme’s partner organizations, namely PEPFAR, UNAIDS and SADC. The HLCC is the highest Governance body of the Champions. It provides high level strategic direction for the programme and serves as a platform for all the Champions and partners to interact around this noble vision of an AIDS-Free Generation. Fundraising gala “Cities around the world”

UNAIDS, in partnership with the hotel InterContinental Genève, Cartier and Etihad Airways, held its first fundraising gala, in Geneva, Switzerland on 19 March 2015. The event is part of UNAIDS’ efforts to ensure that children everywhere are free from HIV and that mothers have access to antiretroviral medicines to ensure that they stay alive and well.
